How to get a 360-degree view of a customer

Bring together CRM contact data, linked deals, execution tasks, activity history, and audit log context to see the complete picture of one customer relationship in SPLX OS.

Open in SPLX OS

Every customer relationship spans multiple modules. Bayou & Co. is a contact in CRM, a deal in the pipeline, a set of tasks in Execution, and a thread of activities logged over months. Mei Lin, the account manager at Northwoods Outfitters, pulls all of this together before her quarterly check-in call — it takes about 3 minutes and she leaves the call knowing every open item, every note, and every commitment outstanding.

Here's how to do the same review.

Modules and permissions required

Module Minimum role needed
CRM viewer (read contacts, deals, activities)
Execution viewer (read tasks)
Settings → Audit log admin (for audit history)

Both CRM and Execution modules must be enabled. The audit log is available to admins and owners regardless of module settings.

The contact detail page is your hub

The contact's detail page (/crm/contacts/:id) is the primary 360 surface. It pulls together information from CRM and Execution in one scrollable view. Navigate there via CRM → Contacts, search for the contact, and click their row.

What you see on the contact detail page

1. Contact details card

The top card shows name, title, email, phone, company, source, and tags. In B2B or Both mode it also shows the company link — click the company name to open the company detail page with a count of all contacts in that organization.

Status check: Is all contact information current? If not, click Edit to update it. Contact updates require admin, owner, or advisor role (crm.contacts.manage) — contributor can view but not edit.

2. Deals panel

Below the contact details, the Deals section lists all deals that include this contact. Each deal row shows:

  • Deal title (click to open the deal detail page)
  • Current pipeline stage badge
  • Deal value (if set)

This tells you whether the contact has open opportunities, where those deals stand in your pipeline, and whether any deals have recently moved to a won or lost stage.

Mei Lin's pre-call check for Bayou & Co. typically shows one active deal at Proposal stage and one won deal from the prior quarter. The won deal's notes have the contract terms.

3. Tasks panel

The Tasks section shows all Execution tasks linked to this contact. Each task row shows:

  • Task title (click to open the task detail panel inline)
  • Status badge (To do, In progress, Done, Blocked, etc.)
  • Assignee
  • Due date

This is where you see what's currently outstanding from your team toward this customer. If Priya has a task "Send revised equipment manifest" that's been To do for two weeks, it shows up here — before the call, not after.

To create a new task linked to the contact, click + Add task in the panel header. The task is linked to the contact automatically. You can also link it to a project from the task's detail panel.

4. Activity timeline

The Activity section shows a chronological log of all interactions with this contact: calls, emails, meetings, notes, and visits. Each entry shows type, title, notes, and who logged it.

Scroll this timeline to reconstruct the relationship history before a call. To add a new activity (for example, to log today's call immediately after it ends), click Log activity and fill in the type and notes.

In B2C mode, a separate Visit History panel filters the timeline to visit-type entries only, giving service businesses a quick log of appointments without other activity types mixed in.

Beyond the contact page: other places to look

Deal notes

Open a specific deal via the Deals panel link. The deal detail page (/crm/deals/:id) has a Notes field and a probability/value overview. For complex accounts with multiple contacts, deals carry notes at the deal level that don't appear on the contact page.

Cross-contact tasks in Execution

If this customer has tasks spread across multiple contacts (for example, several Bayou & Co. team members each have their own tasks), navigate to Execution → Tasks and filter by project or search by title. The cross-project task list gives you a flat view of all open items regardless of which contact they're linked to.

Audit log (admin)

For a complete change history — every edit, every status change, every assignment — go to Settings → Audit Log. Filter by resource type (CRM or Execution) and search by the contact name or deal title in the action description. This surfaces changes that aren't visible in the timeline, such as a deal's stage being moved back from Proposal to Prospect, or a task being reassigned.

Pre-call checklist

Use this sequence before any customer call:

  1. Open CRM → Contacts and navigate to the contact.
  2. Check the Deals panel — note open opportunities and any won deals with unresolved notes.
  3. Check the Tasks panel — note any overdue or at-risk items.
  4. Scroll the Activity timeline — review the last 2–3 entries for context.
  5. If the contact is part of a company with multiple contacts, open the Company page and check for any deals or notes at the company level.
  6. (Optional, admin) Check the audit log for any recent changes you weren't part of.

Variations

What if I need to find all customers involved in a specific project? Navigate to Execution → Projects and open the project. Click into individual tasks and note which contacts are linked. There is no single "contacts for this project" view — the link is task-by-task. For large projects, create tasks with clear contact links from the start so this lookup stays fast.

What if the contact doesn't appear in Execution tasks at all? You may need to create the task link. Either add a new task from the contact's Tasks panel, or open an existing task in Execution and update its Contact field to link it. Creating or editing a standalone task requires admin, owner, or advisor role; a project-scoped task can also be created or edited by a project member with role member or owner.

What if I'm in B2C mode and don't see a Deals panel? In B2C mode the Deals panel is hidden (no deal records exist). Your 360 view comes from the contacts-kind pipeline stage (shown in the contact's Details card), the Visit History panel, the Activity timeline, and the Tasks panel.

What about Rhythm (Team Sync / Stand Up sessions)? There is no direct link between a contact record and Rhythm sessions. If a customer was discussed in a Team Sync, search the session notes manually via Rhythm → Team Sync and browse recent past sessions, or check the Settings → Audit Log for rhythm.team_sync.* actions near the relevant date. This is a gap worth noting — adding customer context to meeting sessions is currently a manual convention (mention the contact name in session notes or agenda entries).
