How to respond to an assessment as a guest

Open an assessment link, answer Likert-scale and other question types, save your progress, and submit to complete the assessment — no account required.

Open in SPLX OS

When a consultant or workspace admin sends you an assessment link, you can respond directly in your browser without creating an account. Northwoods Outfitters sends a 47-question operational readiness assessment to every prospective client before the first advisory call — respondents complete it on their phones in about 12 minutes.

Before you start

  • You do not need a SPLX OS account.
  • You need the assessment link or QR code shared by the person who sent it.
  • Responses are saved as you go — if you close the tab and reopen the same link, your answers will still be there.

Step 1: Open the link

Click the link in your email or scan the QR code. Your browser opens the assessment directly — no login screen.

If the link shows an error ("This assessment is not available" or "Link expired"), contact the person who sent it. Assessment links have an expiry date set by the sender.

Step 2: Read the introduction

The first screen shows the assessment title, an optional description from the sender, and a rough estimate of completion time. Read through these before starting — they often include context about how your answers will be used.

Click Start or Begin assessment to open the first question.

Step 3: Answer questions

Questions appear one section at a time. The most common question types are:

Likert scale (1–5): Five labeled options from left (strongly disagree / never / very low) to right (strongly agree / always / very high). Click any circle to select your answer. The selected option highlights in the brand color.

Multiple choice: A list of radio options. Click one to select it.

Text response: A free-text area for open-ended answers. Type your response directly.

Rating (numeric): A number selector or slider. Drag or click to set the value.

Your answer is saved automatically each time you select or type something — you do not need to click a save button after each question.

Step 4: Navigate sections

If the assessment has multiple sections, a progress bar at the top shows how far along you are. Use the Next button at the bottom of each section to advance. Use Back to return to the previous section and change an answer.

Unanswered required questions are highlighted when you try to advance past a section — the page scrolls to the first missing answer.

Step 5: Review and submit

After the last section, a Review page shows every question and your answer. Scan for anything you want to change. Click any question's Edit link to go back to that section.

When you are satisfied, click Submit assessment. A confirmation screen appears: "Your response has been submitted." The link will no longer accept new submissions.

What happens after submission

The person who sent the assessment can see your response in their SPLX OS dashboard. Depending on how the assessment is configured, you may or may not receive a copy of your responses by email. If you need a copy, ask the sender directly.

Your individual response is tied to your submission token, not to an account. If you lose the link, you cannot recover your partial submission.
